I have been taking dance since I was 3 years old. My love for Hip Hop began when I was much younger. Never will I forget the first move I mastered; it was the "worm"! Westside has become a second home for me. I have learned so much from Westside, not only dance but lifelong lessons and true friendships. I will never be able to thank the Westside family enough for pushing me to become the dancer and person I am today. My future plans are to go attend ISU for Veterinary Medicine. I plan to join the Hip Hop team. I will miss everybody I have grown up with, and I want to thank you all for being by my side throughout my journey!

I owe my entire artistic life to my family, including Westside and the entire Des Moinesarea dance community. There is not enough room to name all of my beautiful teachers. Thank you with all my heart. They all live within me and always will. So I’ll just name a few of the moments that have changed my life- walking into the Westside Dance Academy for the first time, standing in first position, my first day on pointe, performing; “Roxie”, “Hard Hearted Hannah”, ”The Lady is a Tramp”, “Thaw”, “Bloom”, ”Georgia”, “The Sugar Plum Fairy”,“ and so many group dances with my amazing competition teammates and friends. From all of you--my family, friends, teachers and fellow dancers--I discovered this was what I was meant to be. A kind human being, first, and an artist performing to the best of my ability. I will be attending Texas Christian University in Fort Worth to study in Musical Theatre and Dance. I promise to pass it on. Love you forever, Cari.
